Prayers of the Rosary
The Lord’s Prayer |
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Ave Maria |
Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be |
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Praying the Rosary
BEGIN with the Sign of the Cross and say the Apostles Creed: Leader: “I believe in God the Father the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again according to the scriptures and he ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of God, the Father the Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. [All] I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.”
OFFER the rosary for a special intention. PRAY 1 Lord’s Prayer, 3 Ave Maria, 1 Glory Be and …
“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.” Leader, announces the title of the day’s 5 Mysteries and the 1st mystery. Then recite together 1 Lord’s Prayer, 10 Ave Maria, 1 Glory Be and 1 “O my Jesus.” Leader announces 2nd mystery, etc.
CONCLUDE together and pray … “Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, morning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then most gracious advocate and turn thy gracious eyes upon us that we might be made worthy of the promises of Christ.”
Leader … “Let us pray ...”
Together say … “O God, who’s only begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant we beseech Thee, that by mediating upon these mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Leader … Prayer to St. Michael ...
Together pray … “St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil. May God rebuke him I humbly pray. And do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
Leader … “O most Sacred Heart of Jesus …” (3 times)
END with the Sign of the Cross.
Praying the Divine Mercy
BEGIN (using an ordinary Rosary) with the Sign of the Cross and say the Apostles Creed: Leader: I believe in God the Father the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became man. Amen.
OFFER the Divine Mercy for a person. Jesus said to St. Faustina: "At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the indulgence is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God's anger is placated, unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son." (St. Faustina’s Diary, 811) Also, you can offer the Divine Mercy for a group of persons such as the homeless or those lukewarm in their faith.
PRAY The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Ave Maria: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and Blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
