In Mary's song of praise in Luke, as thanksgiving for the Christ child to be born, she said: "He has remembered His promise of Mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and to His children, forever." (cf. Luke 1:50)

We consider candidates of all ages to become a professed religious or lay brother or sister as well as to consider serving as priests and deacons. If you have already had a career and wish to bring those gifts along, you will find a supportive home here for all your talents in serving the poor and the homeless in America ...
Most importantly, young or old - when you get to the point in your life that the world, its allure, sin and its attraction no longer satisfy you - awesome! Come talk to us, we understand. Do you see how shallow things of the world are and with the Apostle Paul, count it all as rubbish? Come talk to us, we understand!
"One of the ways in which we carry out the age-old human temptation to "become like gods" is to appoint ourselves judges of others. We even judge how things exist and how things should be done. Yet our judgments are inevitably flawed by our own "poverty" and selfishness. It is better to leave all judging to God as Luke tells us in 6:37. In our own frailty, it is not up to us to judge the homeless, the addict, the loser, cousin Joe, aunt Sue, a co-worker or anyone else we think is a loser. Our mission is not to judge, but to offer mercy, charity and kindness to all. 'Blessed are the merciful, they shall obtain mercy.'"

Those who appreciate their own “brokenness” are in a special place to offer mercy to others and we want to talk with you as a potential fit for SFM spirituality and our community.
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
